Post graduation work visa:

The PGWP is an open work permit that entitles its holder to employment with any employer in any province or territory of Canada and allowed job switching.

A foundation of Canada’s immigration system, the post-graduation work permit (PGWP) enables international students who graduate from Canadian universities and colleges to work there for up to three years after they do so. Graduates can convert to permanent resident status in Canada with the assistance of the post-graduation work permit.

Here’s how applying for a PGWP works:

You must currently have a valid temporary status or have left Canada to be granted a post-graduation work permit. You must have completed a degree program at an authorized learning facility that is qualified (DLI). Moreover, you need to provide convincing proof that you satisfy each need:

• You have successfully finished a degree, diploma, or certificate-granting academic, vocational, or professional training program at an approved Canadian institution that lasted at least 8 months.
• Throughout each academic session of the program or programs of study they have finished and submitted as part of their post-graduation work permit application, you have maintained your full-time student status in Canada. Only the conditions qualify for an exception: a study break, the end of the school year, or COVID-19-related issues.
• The eligible DLI has issued you with a transcript and an official letter attesting that you have fulfilled the conditions necessary for finishing your program of study. An application for a post-graduation work permit must be submitted with the transcript and official letter.
