What is the Super Visa Application Process?
The Super Visa application process involves several steps to ensure eligibility and compliance with Canadian immigration requirements. First, gather all necessary documents, including proof of your relationship with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, a letter of financial support from your child or grandchild, and proof that they meet the minimum income threshold. Next, obtain valid medical insurance from a Canadian provider with coverage of at least $100,000 for one year. You must also undergo a medical examination to confirm you are medically admissible to Canada. Once your documents are ready, submit your application online or through a Visa Application Centre (VAC) and pay the required fees. During the application review, you may be asked to provide biometrics or additional information. What are the Super Visa Eligibility Requirements for the Sponsor?
To sponsor a Super Visa applicant, the sponsor (child or grandchild of the applicant) must meet specific eligibility criteria. They must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and provide a written commitment to financially support the applicant during their stay in Canada. The sponsor must also demonstrate that they meet the minimum income threshold (Low-Income Cut-Off, or LICO) based on their household size, which includes the applicant(s). Proof of income can be provided through documents such as recent Notice of Assessment (NOA), T4 or T1 forms, or employment letters. Meeting these requirements ensures that the sponsor can support their parent or grandparent financially while they are in Canada.
